July 19, 2019

It is that time of year and where your assistance is needed with a very important task – the selection of Student Speakers for the upcoming Convocation Ceremonies on October 9-11, 2019.

The Student Speaker you nominate plays an important role in representing their graduating class. The selected graduating students will each be asked to give a five-minute, inspirational address that reflects on their SFU student experience and what it means to be a part of the SFU graduating class. The student should be comfortable speaking in front of a large audience.

If you know a student who you believe would be a good speaker, able to articulate their SFU experience and connect with their fellow graduands, please submit your nomination and briefly explain why you think they would make a good candidate.

Please do not contact the students in advance to see if they are interested in having their name forwarded. Once we get all the nominations, we will contact a number of students to discuss whether or not they would be willing to be a student convocation speaker.
