Sick of rising tuition? Tired of being passed up by the bus? Want more affordable textbooks? Have an idea about how to improve SFU? Check out SFSS Advocacy, a committee dedicated to tackling the issues important to SFU students.
Here's a sample of what we're working on:
- Plans to address planned tuition increases
- Improving student financial literacy
- Encouraging everyone, especially underrepresented groups, to get involved in governance at SFU and abroad
- Improved transit to SFU
- Mental health awareness
- Deferred maintenance at SFU
All students are encouraged to attend Advocacy meetings. We love having new people at our meetings and are always looking for new ideas. During the Fall Semester, we meet from 11 30 am to 12 30 pm on Mondays in MBC 2290. Feel free to drop in or and/or email SFSS Advocacy Chair Kathleen Yang at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or campaign ideas you may have.
