Sustainability Community Development Student Union

Objectives of the union shall be:
1. To represent and promote the academic and welfare interests of the SCDSU’s members to the department of Sustainable Community Development, the University, and the Simon Fraser Student Society.
2. To provide an organized body through which Sustainable Community Development students may actively participate in University affairs.
3. To provide a vehicle for the Sustainable Community Development students to interact with the SFU Centre for Sustainable Community Development and Sustainable Community Development organizations in the community for the purpose of learning and practical experience.

Automatic membership shall be extended to:
1. All students currently enrolled in the Certificate and Post-Baccalaureate Diploma Program; and
2. All students currently enrolled in one or more courses offered by the SCD department.

Theatre Student Union

Objectives of the union shall be:
1. To support current students and alumni in Theater and Production & Design in their artistic endeavors
2. To provide an opportunity for our members to gain skills and knowledge outside the FPA courses, by means of workshops, guest speakers, lectures, conferences, etc.

3. To give the performing arts a greater profile here on campus and in the Vancouver theater community
4. To better the educational experience for all Union members
5. To promote collaboration and interdisciplinary opportunities with other SCA Unions

Automatic membership shall be extended to:
All declared or intended Majors and Minors in the Theater Performance and Production & Design departments of the School for the Contemporary Arts at SFU

Visual Arts Student Union

Objectives of the union shall be:
1. To promote Visual Arts within the University and the community.
2. To stimulate and promote interest in the study of Visual Arts.
3. To encourage collaboration, strengthening, and growth of visual artists currently studying at SFU.

4. To establish an environment of trust, openness, and respect that encourages differences of opinion, individuality, development of ideas, questioning of authority, and conventions within a shared studio space and within the department.
5. To increase exposure and involvement with the SFU student community and local arts community.
6. To represent the academic interests and welfare of Visual Arts students within the Department and Faculty, and on Campus.

Automatic membership shall be extended to:
Any student enrolled in Visual Arts classes or in SCA classes required to complete the Visual Arts Bachelor’s or Graduate degree.

World Literature Student Union

Objectives of the union shall be:
1. To promote, represent, and advocate for students’ interests within the School of World Literature, the University, the Simon Fraser Student Society (hereinafter referred to as the SFSS), and the larger community.
2. To support, promote and sustain the community and network of the World Literature students, alumni, faculty and external community alliances.
3. To facilitate cooperation and communication between students and the University.
4. To organize academic, social and recreational activities for members of the Union.
5. To undertake projects, activities, and initiatives to benefit the membership.
6. To conduct the affairs of the Union with integrity, honesty and responsibility and to model and encourage ethical, honest, and responsible behavior throughout the World Literature student community.

Automatic membership shall be extended to:
1. All undergraduate students actively registered in the School of World Literature.
2. All undergraduate students who have intended majors in the School of World Literature and have taken a course labeled WL in the last three semesters.
3. All undergraduate students currently enrolled in one or more courses labeled WL.
