LYNCH HISTORY GRANT APPLICATIONS OPEN
Lynch History Grant applications are now open for the 2014-2015 season. The $1500 grant is awarded by The Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto, and is open to individuals, groups, and organizations.
Applicants need not be affiliated with the University of Toronto, or any university.
The grant is named for Michael Lynch, the late University of Toronto English professor, long-time gay and AIDS activist, and founder of the Toronto Centre for Lesbian and Gay Studies (the community predecessor to the Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies). For over ten years (starting in 1990), the TCLGS encouraged community-based and academic research on queer history. The Lynch grant is supported by the Lynch Fund at Sexual Diversity Studies, designed to carry on such work. The Lynch grant is intended to encourage history research endeavours, and projects designed to transmit knowledge about queer history to a broad audience.
For more information about the grant, past winners and to submit an application, please visit http://www.uc.utoronto.ca/lynch-grant
