Everyone is welcome!
***Out on Campus is located on the territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and Stó:lō nations. These territories give us life thanks to the care taking work done by these nations since time immemorial. ***
Our Community Building Team has organized After Hours Socials so that folks can come and experience OOC in an informal social setting! Each social has a different theme:
– March 10 will deal with queer fandom, pop culture and queer representations.
– March 24 will explore healthy relationships and sexual health.
– On April 7, folks will have a chance to discuss coming out and dealing with homo/transphobia.
Free event with snacks available!
The Out on Campus lounge is wheelchair accessible. We have two doors leading into the space: the first door swings open towards the outside via sensor and the second should be open. Our external door is 36″ wide. Our internal door is 33″ wide.
Gender Neutral & Wheelchair Accessible Washrooms
There are wheelchair accessible washrooms in the vicinity. We also have single stall washrooms in the vicinity can be used as gender neutral washrooms.
Tree Nuts & Peanuts
We do not yet have a policy on tree nuts and peanuts, however, I ask folks to refrain from bringing tree nuts (including coconuts) and peanuts into the space to make it more accessible for folks with anaphylactic peanut and/or tree nut allergies.
Note: There is a small amount of peanut butter currently in our space. We are looking to change that soon so that our space will become accessible to folks with anaphylactic peanut allergies.
OOC Scent Free Policy
We want to keep Out on Campus as safe and accessible as possible for everyone. For this reason, please refrain from using scented products when you visit OOC. We have a small amount of scent free liquid soap. laundry detergent, baking soda and vinegar available for folks to take home. Here are some good resources: Think Before You Stink & Fragrance Free Femme of Color Realness.
ASL & FM Tuners
We are able to offer ASL and/or FM tuners for our workshops if they are requested by the deadline.
Our lounge offers a variety of seating: arm chairs, couches, wheeled office chairs with arms, and armless chairs.
We have overhead fluorescent lights installed in our space. We also have two non-fluorescent lamps that we can also turn on. Our lighting depends on the needs of folks using the space.
Our lounge has wifi. Staff and students often bring their laptops into the space to work. There are also three desktop computers in our space that folks sometimes utilize as well. We also have a microwave and fridge in our lounge.
Our events, space, library and services are accessible for free.
