Are you a full-time SFU undergraduate student who self-identifies as a Black (Black, African-Descent, African Canadian, or Afro-Caribbean Canadian) Canadian citizen or resident? Do you have demonstrated community service within an organization of benefit to the Black community?

If yes, then don’t miss this $10,000 SFSS award opportunity that can help you achieve your academic goals.

In order to meet the requirements above, a minimum CGPA 2.00 is needed and preference will be given to students who are involved with the Students of Caribbean and African Ancestry (SOCA), African Students’ Association (ASA) and/or the Black Caucus.

Applications should include: 

  • A letter of reference from a supervisor or team member within the organization who can attest to the applicant’s service or volunteer activities and;
  • A  statement from the applicant outlining the positive impact of their service and/or volunteerism within an organization of benefit to the Black community.

Students can apply for all scholarship/awards by logging into their Student Information System (go.sfu.ca). The deadline for application and the submission of supporting documentation is Friday, January 13, 2023.
