Overview
The SFSS First Nations, Métis, & Inuit Student Association (FNMISA) is a constituency group for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) students at SFU. The FNMISA has a space within the Student Union Building that offers events, resources, support services, and advocacy for FNMI students.
Services
The FNMISA is dedicated to creating a safe space and programming for the members of the FNMI community at SFU and the FNMISA Coordinator facilitates the design and implementation of programs for the space. The FNMISA space offers these services to all FNMI students at SFU:
- Safe space and community for First Nations, Métis, & Inuit students
- Advocacy and campaign support for SFSS’s First Nations, Métis, & Inuit membership
- Culturally specific supports
- Organization and hosting of First Nations, Métis, & Inuit student gatherings, cultural events, and other culturally relevant activities
