The SFSS, in conjunction with Health Sciences Undergraduate Student Union (HSUSU), is hosting its fourth annual Angel Tree project for refugees located in the Lower Mainland, particularly those within our membership.

We would really appreciate any contributions that you could make to our fundraiser so we can make the holidays a fun time for everyone. Both in-kind and monetary donations will be received, both in person and online.

We have Christmas trees placed all over campus highlighting the three types of requested donations, based on the needs of the recipients.

Here’s where you can find them:

Burnaby

  • SFSS Burnaby General Office 
  • Entrance to Blusson Hall near the bus loop

Surrey

  • SFSS Surrey Office

Here are some examples of what you can donate:

  • Gift cards
 (Translink, Grocery, Home supplies, Clothing, Restaurants, Movie passes, etc.)
  • Children box (toys, hygiene supplies, gloves, toques, school supplies, etc) **Please label the age range for the child on the box
  • Family care box (Home supplies, kitchen goods, toiletries, baby items, family excursion passes, bedding/pillows, household items, etc.)

It is not mandatory to make a box. Single items can be donated as well. If making a box, please put all items in tupperware boxes. Please make sure all gifts are unwrapped or visible.

Feel free to write a nice letter or holiday card if you wish!

As a token of our appreciation, please stop by the James Douglas Study Space for Photos with Santa and complementary hot chocolate and pancakes on Thursday, December 1st to warm you up on a cold winter day. We will also be accepting the last donations here!
