The Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS) Board of Directors gives a reminder notice that the SFSS Annual General Meeting will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday, October 27th via Zoom, for the following purposes:

Motions:

  • SFSS Bylaw Cleanup Vote
  • SFSS Bylaw Renumbering Vote
  • SFSS Divestment Bylaw Vote
  • Accessible Course Practices Support Vote
  • Reviewing and Approving the SFSS Financial Audit
  • Reviewing and Approving the SFSS’s Finance Report
  • Reviewing and Approving the SFSS’s Annual Report
  • Approving Next Year’s Auditor

Your vote is important:

The SFSS Membership (yes, that includes you!) entrusts an elected Board of Directors to manage the Society on their behalf. However, the Societies Act, of which the SFSS is governed, requires that certain matters be approved by the Membership at the Annual General Meeting, as the Membership is the highest governing body of the Society.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

Location: Online via Zoom. We will be sending you a link and more detailed instructions closer to the date.

You can either download the Zoom app on your phone, laptop or tablet, or dial in via telephone.

How to Vote

1. Using Zoom on a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone app:

  • The question will be called by the AGM chairperson

Motioning and Seconding

App voting members will click on the participants button and will then click on the raise hand function in the participants window to move or second a motion

Voting

App voting members will use the pop-up poll to cast their vote with Yes, No, or Abstain (choosing to not vote)

2. Using a landline phone

  • The question will be called by the AGM chairperson

Motioning and Seconding

Landline phone voting members will dial *9 to raise their hand to move or second a motion

Voting

Landline phone voting member will be unmuted by the moderator and asked to cast their vote with a Yes, No or Abstain (choosing to not vote)
