The SFSS Executive Committee has released a statement in support of the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit and Transgender people (MMIWG2S) remembered on May 5th. The document acknowledges the minimized and disregarded genocide against Indigenous People(s) by institutions, governments, and societies that have disproportionately implicated Indigenous women, Girls, Two-Spirit and Transgender folks since colonial contact.

The SFSS also stands in solidarity and supports Indigenous families and communities affected, and sends strength and remembrance to Indigenous communities, not just today but every day and recognizes the ongoing harms that have occurred.
