The month of September was full of exciting initiatives that aimed to welcome students back for the fall term. From tabling at Clubs Days to the Pancake Breakfast, the executive committee and staff took hold of this busy month to make it as wholesome as possible for members. VP Events and SFSS staff helped to host StreetFest!, which allowed SFU community members and students to come together and celebrate the cultural diversity of Burnaby Mountain.

VP External hosted the Burnaby Mountain Gondola Celebration, honouring years of hard work from students and community members to improve transit for students. VP External also worked to host tabling for the municipal elections, educating and encouraging students to get out and vote. Meanwhile, VP Events and staff organised both the Parasite movie night, and Everything Everywhere All At Once movie night at Surrey campus. VP Internal reported that the Health and Dental Referenda Question was approved by Council to adjust to inflation and offer improved student mental health supports. We are looking forward to what this next month brings!
