The word pysanky comes from the Ukrainian verb
pysaty, or “to write”, because the patterns are 'written'
on the eggs in beeswax rather than painted. We will
be using beeswax and dye to decorate the eggs but,
we will also have acrylic paint and other crafting
supplies available for those who are more pressed for
