• Has the power to convene the Board, Board Executive Committee, and Council
  • Leads the Board of Directors and directs all its meetings
  • Is the only member authorized to communicate on behalf of the Board to all other organizations (except where otherwise authorized)
  • Meets with representatives from the University including the President
  • Liaises between the Board and its employees
  • Supervises the Chief Executive Officer
  • Ensures deliberations are timely, fair, focused, and orderly
  • Is a member of all Board and Council committees
  • Is a signing officer
