Here’s what your SFSS Board of Directors has been up to during the month of May:

The SFSS Board of Directors have had a tremendous start to the board term. We’ve had board orientation, retreat and clubs days in both Burnaby and the Surrey Campus. Started various initiatives and projects such as the Free Menstrual Products initiative to deliver through the Student Experience Initiative alongside the Graduate Student Society, TSSU, SFSS Women’s Centre and SFSS Out on Campus. We have also represented the student body at conferences and skills development such as StudentCare Conference in Montreal and the British Columbia Federation of Students Skills and Development Conference!

Lastly, after approximately 10 years of advocacy and organizing, the Burnaby City Council has finally had movements regarding the Burnaby Mountain Gondola Project. The Burnaby City council have moved to support in principle a Gondola to the Simon Fraser University Burnaby campus whereby TransLink will now start consultations for the project to move forward towards a future vote of approval!
