SFSS and GSS to Host Federal Election Debate for SFU Community

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BURNABY, B.C., (Oct. 1, 2019) — The Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS) and the Graduate Student Society (GSS) will be hosting a debate at Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby Campus where voters, especially youth, can be informed and involved at the local level.

Candidates representing the Burnaby North-Seymour ridings have been invited to the debate. They will be comparing their parties’ platforms to the topics of interests to students: tuition, textbooks, housing and transportation affordability as well as the environment and climate change. The event is free to students and the SFU community and registration is required.

This will be a great opportunity for SFSS and GSS members to learn the candidates’ stances on important issues, but also an opportunity for all guests to share their views on relevant topics and to ask questions!

Where: Burnaby Campus Room C9001
When: Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 – 5:30 to 7:30PM
