Simon Fraser Student Society Names Martin Wyant New Executive Director

BURNABY, BC– July 13, 2015 — The Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS), a non-profit society dedicated to advocating for the interests of undergraduate students at Simon Fraser University, has named Martin Wyant as its new Executive Director.

Wyant joins the SFSS following his successful tenure as Chief Executive Officer at SHARE Family & Community Services, a non-profit organisation dedicated to social needs of the Tri-Cities communities. Wyant’s career also includes time leading a variety of youth-serving, non-profit organizations, private sector business leadership and community-based economic development.

“We are very privileged to have Martin join our team,” said Enoch Weng, the SFSS president. “Martin brings a good combination of experience and leadership, along with an excellent managerial and community-building track record,” added Weng.

“I am excited to be joining the Simon Fraser Student Society,” said Wyant. “I’m looking forward to working with our student leaders and staff to develop and deliver the services and support our students need.”

Martin Wyant is replacing executive director Colleen Knox, who retired from the society after twenty-five years of service in various administrative and executive roles.

Since its inception in 1965, the Simon Fraser Student Society has maintained its tradition of students working together to enrich and improve the life of students.
