The Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS) is excited to announce the launch of its new 2019-2021 strategic plan. The document is designed to support students to reach their full potential by providing resources and services that represent, connect and benefit our members.

“To have long term priorities in place for the Society is very instrumental to the work we do and is huge for us right now,’ says SFSS President Giovanni HoSang. “We were able to work together on this plan for what really matters – to most effectively serve our membership in the coming years. The continuity that this enables will allow us to make impactful changes and build on the positive efforts of each year’s board – for the betterment of the whole student body.”

Created by the SFSS Board of Directors and the Executive Director, this plan sets out priorities for the organization. Guided by this plan, the Society’s efforts will focus on:

  • Student engagement
  • Student wellbeing
  • Student financial health
  • University relations
  • Government and stakeholder relations
  • Organizational development

“It’s important to recognize the efforts of the student leaders who ensured we had a plan in place to take our organization to the next level,” says Sylvia Ceacero, SFSS Executive Director. “The goals to streamline and improve operations also compliment upcoming milestones for the SFSS, such as the opening of the new Student Union Building. Furthermore, the objectives will help us develop relevant resources and build a stronger community for the undergraduate students.”

The SFSS will be regularly reviewing its progress in order to meet evolving student needs.
